Dymon-iC Coatings
Dymon-iC is an improved DLC (diamond-like carbon) coating developed by Teer Coatings. The Dymon-iC coating is an insulating carbon based coating which has a combination of high adhesion, low friction and high wear resistance.
PROPERTIES
• 2 microns thick
• friction coefficient between 0.03 and 0.1 depending upon the load and operating conditions
• hardness above 1,400 VHN
• black colour
USES AND APPLICATIONS
• dies and die blocks (including CD dies)
• tapping, reaming, drilling
• electronics industry – assembly applications
• automotive applications, protection of engine parts
• decorative applications
• moulding, punching
• reduction of pick up and galling with soft materials (Al, Cu, Ti)
