Low Friction Solid Film Lubricant Coatings

Graphit-iC

Graphit-iC™ is a patented low friction, high wear resistant, solid lubricant coating with good electrical conductivity. The coating is a conducting carbon-based coating with a graphitic microcrystalline structure. Graphit-iC™ coatings, developed by Teer Coatings, has improved friction and wear properties compared to standard DLC type coatings and is suitable for use in a wide variety of applications. The coating also has corrosion resistance properties for a wide range of applications.

Coating Thickness 2 – 4 Microns dependent on application.

Coating Hardness Typical >1500 Hv

Friction Coefficient 0.08

Maximum Operating Temperature 350°C

Minimum Deposition Temperature 200°C

CrN + Graphit-iC

Combines the hard CrN coating with the Graphit-iC solid lubricant coating. With the hard coating underneath the Low Friction layer the coating can survive higher load applications than a straight Graphit-iC coating. The extra thickness also means it has increased corrosion resistance over the thinner Graphit-iC coating.

Coating Thickness 3 – 6 Microns dependent on application.

Coating Hardness Typical >1800 Hv

Friction Coefficient 0.08

Maximum Operating Temperature 350°C

Minimum Deposition Temperature 200°C

Dymon-iC

Dymon-iC™ is an improved DLC (diamond-like carbon) coating developed by Teer Coatings. The Dymon-iC™ coating is an insulating carbon-based coating which has a combination of high adhesion, low friction and high wear resistance.

Coating Thickness 2 – 3 Microns dependent on application.

Coating Hardness Typical >1600 Hv

Friction Coefficient 0.15

Maximum Operating Temperature 350°C

Minimum Deposition Temperature 250°C

MoST

MoST™ is a low friction, high wear resistant, solid lubricant coating with great moisture resistance. The coating is a molybdenum disulphide (MoS2)/metal composite coating. MoST™ coatings, developed and patented by Teer Coatings, are harder and more wear resistant than traditional MoS2 coatings, yet still retain the low friction characteristics of MoS2.

MoST™ can be used either as a stand alone coating or on top of traditional hard coatings like TiN and CrN to further enhance properties.

Coating Thickness 1 – 2 Microns dependent on application.

Friction Coefficient 0.05

Maximum Operating Temperature 350°C

Minimum Deposition Temperature 140°C
