All Teer coatings system used in the Minting Industry are capable of Numismatic, Proof or Circulation die coating using the environmentally friendly PVD Magnetron Sputtering technique.
The control systems allow the mint to select the time of running for the coating process and will shut the system down after completion of a coating process and restart automatically at the start of the next shift to reduce CO2 emissions for energy when not required. Teers have sold 40 + machines to the minting industry and has extensive knowledge of the exacting requirements in this field, over the years Teers has developed a wide range of coatings for the many challenges this industry has thrown up.

Standard Mint Industry Systems
CF Systems
The CF-800 & 700 systems have been specifically designed and optimised for the PVD coating of coining dies. The system is equipped with 4 x Plasmag II Magnetrons in the patented CFUBMSIP arrangement giving increase cleaning and better coating properties. Advanced Energy Pulsed DC power supplies are used for the bias and Advanced Energy DC power supplies are used for the magnetrons; these offer excellent arc handling capabilities for magnetron sputtering. A linear Ion Source is included as standard for enhanced Ion Cleaning of coming dies leading to longer die life. A turbo pump and dry pump are used for achieving the necessary vacuum both are oil free meaning routine pump maintenance only needs to be carried out once per year. The system is controlled for a PLC / HMI interface with 40 + recipes being able to be stored on the system. The system is completely enclosed to enable cleaner working surfaces and the reduction of dust and particles within the die handling area. Dies are loaded into the system via 1 off two die handling systems this means one set of dies can be in the system coating whilst the other jig is either being unloaded and reloaded with dies.

Small Mint Systems
The Small Mint system has been designed as an entry level PVD unit for mints. The system incorporates 4 x Plasmag II Magnetrons in the patented CFUBMSIP arrangement giving increase cleaning and better coating properties. A turbo pump and dry pump are used for achieving the necessary vacuum both are oil free meaning routine maintenance only needs to be carried out once per year. The system is controlled for a PLC / HMI interface with 40 + recipes being able to be stored on the system. The system allows for the dies to be directly loaded into the system without the use of a die Jig.
